Manmeet Singh Bhullar School
Manmeet Singh Bhullar School is beginning an exciting new literacy program called Planting Seeds, Growing Readers! The program will take place every Tuesday in February and March from 2:30-3:30 PM in the main gathering space inside the front doors of the school.
This is a family literacy program. Students attending this program must be accompanied by an adult. Siblings are more than welcome! Our goal is to support families as they support growing young readers at home. Over the seven sessions we will focus on some of the following topics that you can be used at home and at school: How to find context in reading How to Build Vocabulary How to go beyond “sound it out” How to build meaning How to read in Dual-Language Books How to read non-fiction books for meaning How to develop a lifelong love of reading! There is no need to sign up for these sessions. If you are interested in attending, please come to our first session on February 6th with your child. There will be a draw for a door prize at each session and we hope to have the Calgary Public Library Book Truck join us for some sessions as well! The staff at Manmeet Singh Bhullar School are very excited about this new opportunity and we hope to see you there! Happy 2018!
