Manmeet Singh Bhullar School
Believe it or not we are already planning our final field trip for this school year.
We will be going to Fish Creek Park on June 20th. This is a full day field trip, students will arrive at school for 8:00 am, and will be back in time for dismissal at 2:30. This field trip is free of cost (yay!!). As always, we will need volunteers to make this trip possible, if you are able to join us (& have your police clearance) please come. Please return all signed forms by June 8th. Today, May 22nd, we had a fire drill at school. Students practiced being safe, silent and serious. Talk to your child about why we do fire drills and what their job is when we do them.
Reminder, this upcoming weekend is May Long Weekend!! There is NO school for students on Friday, May 18th or Monday, May 21st. We will see you again on Tuesday, May 22nd. Please return your field trip forms for the Calgary International Children's Festival! Our field trip is Thursday, May 24th. If students have not returned their form they will not be able to come. Reminder, this is a FREE field trip!! If you are interested in ordering a "Fun Lunch" for your child, please see the information below:
Reminder: Grade Ones have their Byblos bakery presentation on Thursday, May 10th.
Please make sure students have returned their permission forms. This presentation provides a snack only. Students still need to bring a lunch!! We are so fortunate to have a FREE field trip to the Calgary Children's Festival . This field trip will be on May 24th. Please return permission forms by May 17th.
We NEED 27 volunteers between the kindergarten and Grade Ones or we will NOT be able to go. If you are available PLEASE VOLUNTEER!! All volunteers must have current police clearance. If you are unsure, please check with the school office 4038173568 Our healthy eating presentation is this Thursday, May 10th.
Please return the signed form and $3.00 as soon as possible! If students have not returned the form or money by Thursday they will NOT be able to participate in the presentation. Please plant these trees in your yard right away. They need soil, sunlight, water and space to grow. Be gentle when handling the trees, as these seedlings have fragile roots and branches. Planting these trees is such a small and important thing that we can do to show we care for our environment. Happy Planting!! For more information on this program click on the link below www.calgary.ca/CSPS/Parks/Pages/Programs/Tree-planting/Arbor-Day.aspx Tomorrow, May 2 is Hats on for Mental Health Day. If students would like to, they are encouraged to wear a hat to show support for positive mental health. Mental health is important for everyone. Just like it is important to make sure our bodies are healthy, we need to make sure our minds are healthy too. When our minds are healthy then we feel good about ourselves, our relationships, and our life. A healthy mind means that we are optimistic, have a strong sense of self-esteem, feel loved, and are ready to take on challenges. By wearing a hat tomorrow, we are showing that we think it is important for us to have healthy minds and are dedicated to helping others have healthy minds too. If you decide to wear a hat tomorrow, please ensure that it is school appropriate and does not distract from the learning. We are very excited for our in class FoodImpact presentation by Byblos Bakery. This is a presentation on the importance of healthy eating and healthy choices. Students will receive a snack during this presentation. All food is egg and nut free and produced in a nut free facility. There is also no meat for students who follow a vegetarian diet. Please return the signed form and $3.00 by Monday May 7th. Please contact your child's teacher with any questions or concerns. |
